It has been updated to a high standard and the cottage offers warm and comfortable accommodation with plenty of character. The spacious fitted kitchen is well designed and has a beautiful slate floor, there is a snug with an open fire and exposed beams, the main sitting dedicated dining area room also has an open fire and a polished wooden floor and both rooms offer cosy and welcoming spaces to relax in. The three beds are light and elegant and the bathroom is of the same high standard as the rest of the property. This characterful cottage is a fabulous base offering quality accommodation in which to enjoy this glorious area.

the historic market town of masham is situated in wensleydale alongside the river ure surrounded by gently rolling countryside. The town has a enormous market place and was the site for annual sheep fairs with some of the animals coming from the abbeys of jervaulx and fountains. The tradition still continues today in september but on a much smaller scale. The town has a good range of shops, restaurants and pubs and there is a market on wednesdays and saturdays. There are many walks in the area including a 10 mi. Walk along the river ure which is perhaps 1 of the best walks in the uk. With so much to see and do, this is a fabulous place for a holiday whatever the time of year.
