Buckfastleigh is located approximately 7 mis from the historic town of totnes, and about 13mis from paignton and some of the many beaches on the south devon coastline. For those who love the outdoor life, there are many walks in the area, from exploring the windswept moorland and climbing granite tors to following the river dart as it meanders through wooded valleys or out on the coast. Local attractions include pennywell farm activity centre, buckfast abbey, south devon railway, butterfly farm and otter sanctuary, holne country park and the valiant soldier (the pub that time forgot).
