There is also a family bathroom, a ground level cloakroom, a kitchen and a sitting area with dedicated dining area room. Outside there is roadside parking and use of shared gardens with furniture. With york, the yorkshire dales and the seaside resorts of filey, scarborough and whitby, easily accessible, petergate house is a great base.

Once known as jorvik, this vibrant town was a major viking centre of commerce and boasts a enormous selection of architecture from a variety of historical periods. From the city walls to the charming shopping street known as the shambles, york has something for everybody. There are various cruises available down the river ouse and visitors can enjoy the national railway museum, the castle museum and betty’s tea rooms – home of yorkshire tea and an incredibly unique mirror from the 2nd world war on which service men visiting the café could write their names with a diamond-tipped ‘pen’. Further afield are the yorkshire dales and moors as well as the coastal resorts of scarborough, whitby and filey, making this an incredibly diverse destination.
