With a cosy open fire in the lounge, exposed beams in the bright bedrooms, a lovely roll top cast iron bath and superb rural views over the pretty countryside, this wonderful cottage is teeming with period charm. Able to sleep ten people across five beds, this property makes an ideal base for a large group of friends or a family gathering. With so much to see and do in this diverse area, there's bound to be something to suit everyone in your holiday group.

With pretty houses and cottages clustered around the old harbour, the village is surrounded by high craggy cliffs and a sheltered sandy beach. This settlement has ties to captain cook, who was apparently apprenticed to a draper near the harbour. Nowadays there is a good selection of pubs, shops and tea rooms for visitors to the yorkshire coast. The cleveland way runs down the cliffside to the sea's edge, passing through the town and providing the best views in the local area. With whitby, scarborough and the rest of the yorkshire coast so close by, this makes an excellent base for visitors looking for a traditional seaside holiday.
