The Gatehouse
The Grade1 listed Medieval Gatehouse at Stoneleigh Abbey is one of the few complete monastic gatehouses left as most are now in ruins. In 1346 the Abbot, Robert de Hockele built the beautiful gatehouse using Kenilworth Stone and the property featured in Humphry Repton's Red Book, 1809. The structure of the building is almost entirely 14th Century with the remains of a late 13th Century east gable end with stunning views over the Abbey itself.
The Gatehouse has retained many of its original character features including stone mullion windows, exposed beams, tiled and oak floors but now has the benefit of oil fired central heating.
The Abbey is open to members of the public during the summer months and will host a number of events during the year. Part of the Ground Floor accommodates the Estate/Ticket office and is not included in the tenancy.

Special Terms
Due to the sensitivity of the location within this heritage site, there are a number of restrictions a tenant would be required to adhere to. Certain access routes must be taken and the landlords ask that no ball games, music or other disturbance is conducted within the gardens specifically whilst the Abbey is open to visitors.
This is to avoid any possible conflict with the regular events that take place at Stoneleigh Abbey.
Access will be required for maintaining the clock and the alarm system.
Utilities and Services
Electricity and heating serves both the residential and office accommodation and costs will be apportioned between the two areas.
Council Tax is payable to Warwick District Council.
Water is provided by Severn Trent.
Tenancy

Directions
From the A46 take the A452 to Leamington. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the Leamington Road (A452).
