Description:

Enjoying an elevated position, this beautifully converted four bedroom barn is set in an idyllic country landscape and boasts far reaching views over the garden and two acre paddock (STMS). Carefully designed, the interiors offer a bespoke finish allowing for luxurious modern family living, whilst retaining a wealth of charm and character. Property Summary *Stunning Barn Conversion *Four Bedrooms including master with en-suite and dressing room *Luxury Kitchen/Breakfast Room *Generous Gardens *Accommodation extends to approximately 2085 sq ft Peace and Quiet Relaxing in their beautiful barn conversion, David and Rachel Bridges appreciate the peace and quiet of their surroundings and the simply amazing views. The four bedroom Derbyshire stone house has been a happy family home for almost four years to them now. The location has given them the best of both worlds - it feels very secluded but is actually a short distance away from the amenities of large towns. And because of the layout of the house, the family has enjoyed privacy as well as space for family activities. When we drove up the private lane that very first time, it felt like the middle of nowhere , said Rachel. But, in reality, we are just two minutes from everything we need here . A Superior Presentation In addition to the location, Rachel and David were attracted by the high standard of the interior. They bought the house when it had recently been completed. I liked the workmanship, the nice fittings and decor , Rachel said, I liked the attention to detail, such as every single window in the house having a different design but with matching paint . The owners were also impressed by the bespoke kitchen design from the local firm of Osborne of Ilkeston. The units are hand made and beautifully designed. We absolutely live in the kitchen diner. It's the hub of our home Rachel explained. Family Life Choosing a home that suited family life was very important to the couple. We looked at other properties but this was one really worked for us , Rachel remembered with four bedrooms, the children are at one end of the house and we are at the other end. They've got privacy and so have we. The kids have the upstairs to themselves . In the late evening she and David usually retire to the drawing room. The drawing room is fantastic in winter when we have the log fire , she added. All Year Round The grounds have also been conducive to family living and Rachel feels that it's as good in winter as it is in summer . The children like to go sledging on the land and Rachel recalled one particularly memory of a snowfall. I remember the children building a snowman by the lights of the courtyard late into the evening . Moving on with Memories Rachel is still amazed at finding the beautiful barn conversion. I couldn't believe this was here. I'm a local person and I didn't know she admitted. Due to changing circumstances and David embarking on a new project, it is time to move on but Rachel knows they will miss the very special home. When you drive up the private lane to the house, it feels right , she said. And she summed up the gentle appeal of the house and its garden. I feel like I'm on holiday when I'm here and my friends and family have the same feeling she said. GROUND FLOOR ACCOMMODATION Enjoying a truly stunning location at the height of the Derbyshire Hills, the first glimpse of Foxfield Barn with its immaculate exterior will certainly capture your attention and the interiors do not disappoint. Stepping inside you find yourself in a bright reception hall where a door leads into the stunning and spacious drawing room. An abundance of windows allow natural light to flood the room while also providing wonderful views of the beautiful gardens and impressive surrounding countryside. An attractive wood burner brings warmth to the room on cooler winter days and the exposed beams deliver all of the character that you would expect from such an outstanding barn conversion. At the heart of the home is the luxurious kitchen/breakfast room. This is a fabulous expanse with a plethora of cabinets providing plenty of storage and space to prepare meals, flowing effortlessly into a connecting family room with dining area, this is perfect for informal and relaxed family gatherings. The master suite is an exceptional area, a neutral colour palette and natural lighting, along with an en-suite and separate, delightful dressing room, create a haven to relax and unwind. Completing the ground floor you note the separate utility room and study, which could be used as an additional bedroom. FIRST FLOOR ACCOMMODATION Ascending the stairs to the first floor, two beautiful bedrooms await. Each is well proportioned, attractively presented and boasts an en-suite shower or bathroom. Setting the Scene The rear garden is generous with plenty of room for play equipment, such as a trampoline and football posts. It could be made even larger if future owners wanted to take the fence down and extend into the adjacent paddock. It's a lovely garden with trees, shrubs and flower borders and we have quite a large rockery with huge boulders, which came from the excavation done for the barn conversion , Rachel said. The garden is ideal for entertaining and there is plenty of room for a marquee. She describes the views as phenomenal. The views from the property roll on forever she enthused. Within Easy Reach The village of Holbrook is just 15 to 20 minutes away from the M1 motorway. It takes around 15 minutes to drive to Derby and half an hour to reach Nottingham. The small town of Belper, a pretty market town and busy shopping area, is five minutes away. The town hosts an annual well dressing, which is a traditional craft in Derbyshire involving the decoration of wells with flower petals, seeds and other natural materials. The drive to the nearby village of Duffield is only a few minutes away, where there are a wide variety of shops and services.
